EUROCALL 2016



 

The Language Centre of CUT is hosting the annual European Conference for Computer Assisted Language Learning, which takes place in a different country from a different University each year.

The Language Centre, which is faithful to innovation, would like to announce that it will be hosting the annual EuroCALL2016 conference, from August 24th-27th 2016, focusing on Computer Assisted Language Learning. The EuroCALL conference is one of the most important conferences worldwide for its research on Computer Assisted Language Learning, which takes place in a different country every year in a different European country. The previous one took place in Padova, Italy. The topic this year is “CALL Communities and Culture”.

The Language Centre of Cyprus University of Technology has been an active member of EuroCALL with participations and presentations at the annual EuroCALL conferences and with the participation of many of its members in various committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The Language Centre has already organised a successful three-day EuroCALL Teacher Education SIG Workshop in May 28th-29th 2015 in Limassol, focusing on PedagogiCALL Perspectives on Curriculum Development and Implementation.

The call for presentations is open until February 18th 2016. The conference will cover issues such as interculturalism/multilingualism with the use of technology, language learning and social media, language learning and the use of mobile phones, teacher training and professional development, pedagogical challenges when using technology for language teaching, and more.
