Το μάθημα αυτό αποτελεί μια εισαγωγή στην Τεχνολογία Λογισμικού, του κλάδου εκείνου της Πληροφορικής ο οποίος ασχολείται με τις θεωρητικές προσεγγίσεις, τις μεθοδολογίες και τα εργαλεία που απαιτούνται για την ανάπτυξη ποιοτικών συστημάτων λογισμικού εντός του προβλεπόμενου χρονοδιαγράμματος και του συμφωνηθέντος προϋπολογισμού.

Το μάθημα αυτό αποτελεί φυσική συνέχεια του ΜΗΥΠ 324 - Τεχνολογία Λογισμικού και έχει ως στόχο την αφομοίωση και εμπέδωση στην πράξη της θεωρητικής προσέγγισης και των μεθοδολογιών που ακολουθούνται για την ανάπτυξη ποιοτικών συστημάτων λογισμικού, μέσω ομαδικής εργασίας δημιουργίας ενός προϊόντος λογισμικού που θα εξυπηρετεί συγκεκριμένους σκοπούς από το χώρο της αγοράς, της κοινωνίας, όπως επίσης και από τον ακαδημαϊκό / ερευνητικό χώρο.
