‘Present around the world’ (PATW) is a global competition for students, recent graduates, apprentices and young professional aged 18-30 organized yearly by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, IEΤ. Participants are called to deliver a 10 minute presentation on a topic related to mechanics and technology and subsequently respond to relevant questions from the evaluation committee. The winner is called to present at a European and if successful at a global scale, where he has the opportunity to compete for higher recognitions.
The winner of this year Cyprus Network of IET, in a final competition that was help on Thursday 26 July 2012 is Demetris Photiou a final year undergraduate student at the Mechanical Engineering ad Materials Science and Engineering Department of Cyprus University of Technology.and a member of our Research Unit. Demetris work was on ‘Nanomechanics of Ti-Alloy films for biomedical applications’, and related to his final year thesis project supervised by Assistant Professor George Constantinides and a member of the Unit. Demetris will travel to Paris on the 26th of August to represent Cyprus in the European/Africal/Middle East competition.
