Gregoris Panayiotou was born in Limassol, Cyprus on February 18, 1983. He graduated from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens as an Energy Technology Engineer and had his MSc in Energy in Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh where he graduated with Distinction. He is currently employed at Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) as a Research Associate in a project concerning the application and evaluation of advanced absorber coatings for parabolic trough collectors. In the past, he had also worked as a Research Associate in a project funded by the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus concerning the categorization of buildings in Cyprus according
[...]to their energy performance.
He has 7 Journal publications and 11 Conference publications on aspects concerning energy performance of buildings, wind energy potential analysis, economic analysis of PV applications, evaluation of PEM fuel cells, applicability of hydrogen technologies and recent patents on solar hydrogen systems. The main simulation tool used in most of his work since the acquisition of his first degree is that of Transient System Simulation Software (TRNSYS) while he had also worked with HOMER and PVSyst. His special fields of interest include wide range applications of Renewable Energy Sources and systems and especially renewable-based technologies using hydrogen for energy storage.
