EARLY: The Zero Level Approach to Prevention: Family Life Style Planning.

Aims/Objectives:

Based on evidence concerning a) the crucial importance of family environment for attitude formation b) the comparative effectiveness of behaviour adoption, compared to behaviour change and c) recent findings on the importance of the pre-conception period for the health of the offspring, the project will introduce a new level of prevention, the "Zero Level Prevention". Zero-level prevention refers to intervening at an individual's environment before birth, with the purpose of creating a supportive family environment for the adoption of healthy life styles using the combined benefits of mobile-based applications, and psycho-educational group interventions, targeting couples intending to start a family within the next two years.
