Jeanne Savva holds a B.Sc. Honours degree in Microbiology and Genetic Engineering from the University of the Orange Free State (Republic of South Africa), is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and is a Certified Hospitality Educator. Since January 2023, she has been working at the Cyprus University of Technology as a member of the Special Teaching Staff.
Jeanne worked at the Higher Hotel Institute Cyprus (HHIC) from September 1984 to December 2022, where she was Head of Hospitality and Tourism Studies. Her responsibilities were to plan, coordinate and supervise educational aspects of
[...]the Culinary Arts programme of studies. She was a member of the Academic Council, chairman of the Culinary Arts Programme Council, a member of the Erasmus+ team, and a member of the student Final Year Project Evaluation Committee. Furthermore, she coordinated the following committees: the HHIC Student Training Restaurant, the HHIC Student Cafeteria, Educational Excursions, Educational Competitions and the Pastry and Baking Project. She was also involved in the preparation and evaluation of tenders, the preparation of the Academic Calendar, Class Schedules and the annual graduation ceremony. She also taught courses offered by the two programmes of study the Institute offered, namely, Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Tourism Management. She has experience working in European Funded Programmes as a researcher.
