The University encourages Heads of Departments / Services to provide staff members, including students employed at the University, with facilities and options for distance work, where the nature of the work permits and ensuring the day-to-day functioning of the Organization.

Supervisors have the maximum flexibility to apply distance working procedures.

Those who have a laptop can connect to the University network from their home.

Staff members who will be required to work from home and do not have a computer may request a laptop from the University through their Head of Service / Department.

The University offers a range of free tools that support remote work such as videoconferencing, chat, collaboration, online storage.

If any staff member is ill, they are advised to stay home. It is recommended that members of the academic community working at the University continue to follow procedures related to sick leave.

In addition, the Rector has approved the extension of the use of sick leave for cases related to coronavirus. For example, if the work of any staff member cannot be properly done and if that member has serious health concerns and feels unsafe at work.

Extended sick leave may be used by any staff member who has had direct exposure to the coronavirus and has been advised to remain at home for home confinement for 14 days.

Staff members who are affected by such cases may, subject to the approval of the University Administration, be permitted to take leave due to a family emergency.

This license applies in cases involving both child care and the care of the elderly.

University Personnel or Students belonging to one of the above groups of individuals are encouraged to contact their physician about the specific and / or additional protection and prevention measures they should take (if needed) within the University in view of COVID-19.

The University urges such individuals, in addition to the Basic Preventive Measures:

 - Comply with the chronic medication they may receive and with the instructions of the treating physicians

- Communicate with your treating physician if symptoms of respiratory infection occur for medical evaluation

- Avoid:

• synchronization and event venues, unless necessary
• avoid visits to hospitalized patients
• avoid visits to health services for no reason.

The University is at the disposal of such persons for any facilitation they may require within the University.
