The impact factors for the year 2012 for the various scientific journals have been announced recently. The most successful in the area of energy is ‘Progress in Energy and Combustion Science’ journal which has now a factor of 15.1 (compared to 14.2 in 2011). Dr. Soteris Kalogirou, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials and Science Engineering and core member of our Research Unit, is an Editorial Board Member of the journal.
At the same time the journal announced the ranking of the papers in terms of citations in the journal. According to the list Dr. Kalogirou published four papers, out of the 608 papers published so far in ‘Progress in Energy and Combustion Science’ journal, as follows:
- Solar thermal collectors and applications, year 2004, 357 citations (16th in the ranking)
- Artificial intelligence for the modeling and control of combustion processes, year 2003, 186 citations (52nd in the ranking)
- Seawater desalination using renewable energy sources, year 2005, 159 citations (84th in the ranking)
- Artificial intelligence techniques for photovoltaic applications, year 2008, 105 citations (121st in the ranking)
Prof. Kelires has joined the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports - a Journal from the publishers of Nature
