Dr. Vassilis Litskas is a research associate at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) / Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science since January 2014. He received his first degree in Agriculture / Land Reclamation, Soil Science and Agricultural Engineering (2005) and his M.Sc in Ecology and Sustainable Ecosystems Management (2008) from the School of Agriculture and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). He received his Ph.D. from the Veterinary Medicine School, Laboratory of Ecology and Protection of the Environment, of the AUTH, in January 2013. His current research focus is on the effects of
[...]climate change in agricultural crops and pests as well as greenhouse gas emissions mitigation in the food production system. As an associate researcher at the AUTH, University of Cyprus (UCY) / NIREAS IWRC and CUT he has actively participated in several scientific projects on the field of natural resources sustainable management and environmental chemistry funded from the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology, the Cypriot RPF and EU funds (i.e. INTERREG, FACCE). As a visiting lecturer at UCY and Special Teaching Staff at CUT he teaches Agricultural Meteorology, Agricultural Machinery and Animal Husbandry Equipment, Water Resources Management, Hydrology and Environmental Impact Assessment to undergraduate students as well as Solid Waste Management and Applied Ecology to MSc students. He also had assisted in the supervision of undergraduate and MSc Theses. He has authored 14 papers in refereed scientific journals and more than 10 to international scientific conferences.
