Dr. Koralia Michail is a Special Teaching Staff at the Cyprus University of Technology since January 2021. In 2005 she graduated from the Nursing Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she attended her postgraduate and doctoral studies specializing in pediatric nursing in 2007 and 2012 respectively. In addition to her studies and her collaboration with the University of Athens, Dr. Michail worked for many years at the larger Academic Intensive Care Unit of Greece at Evangelismos Hospital (Athens), acquiring the corresponding professional experience and expanding her educational properties in the hospital setting. [...]as a clinical nurse at the Intensive Care Unit of Aretaeion Private Hospital and at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, at Archbishop Makarios III Hospital. She has collaborated with the University of Athens as well as other private universities in Cyprus as a visiting lecturer. Dr. Michail’s research activities focus on prevention and health promotion of preschool children and adults, as well as prevention of infectious diseases. She currently teaches the course “Healthcare Associated Infections Surveillance”, and is collaborating in teaching of “Child’s Nursing Care”, while holding the responsibility for nursing students clinical placements. She is an active member of the European Resuscitation Council and volunteers as an ALS instructor.
