Dr George Kokkinidis is an Assistant Professor in HRM at the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and Digital Business. He holds an MSc in Management and a PhD from the University of Leicester and he has worked in various Universities in the UK. He is also a Fellow in Advance HE and his teaching and supervision expertise covers a range of areas associated with HRM, management, organisation studies, cooperative studies and social entrepreneurship.

Research Interests & Activities

His research interests lie in the field of Management and Organisation Studies, drawing inspiration from sociology, philosophy, political theory, and human geography. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary and qualitative research, specialising in alternative forms of organisation and organising. His research interests extend to a range of HRM and management related topics such as the organisation of space, employees’ wellbeing, employees’ emotions and attitudes to work. In recent years, he has been involved in major funded projects related to social economy education and health care. He has widely published in some of the top journals in his field and most of his recent publications and works in progress are based on collaborations with third sector organisations.

  • 2022-2023 Co-Investigator in a project titled: "INtersectional Network Of community and stakeholder Voices, And research to Tackle (in)Equities (INNOVATE) in mental health and well-being". This project was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). £244,138
  • 2021-2023 Co-Investigator in an educational programme titled: "Joining Social Economy Forces towards Community development, Connected societies, Co-creation of knowledge and Collaborative education practices / SE 4Ces". This project was funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ call on ‘Knowledge Alliance’. €989,966
  • 2022 Principal Investigator for a project on Social and Co-Operative Clinics in Europe. This project was funded by the ESRC IAA. £19,400
