The Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health (CII) at the Cyprus University of Technology is proud to announce the successful curriculum validation process of its Master in Public Health program (MPH) by the European Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA). This is a prestigious validation award that only a few high-quality programs in Public Health around Europe have received. The APHEA mission is to provide quality assurance and improvement of public health & global health education and training, promoting and facilitating high quality, socially accountable and ethical education and training of public health workforces throughout the world.
The MPH program has been designed with the overarching goal of delivering a top-tier educational program that is nationally accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education. The new MPH program of CII has been built on the experience of >10 years of association with the Harvard School of Public Health in providing first rate MS training on classical and emerging topics for public health professionals.
The MPH is probably the most popular and recognized field of postgraduate specialization in Health Sciences and it will include coursework on the basic principles of public health, computational methods, and practical implementation of modern approaches in public health, including public health core competences, such as population health, methods in public health, health policy and economics, health education and promotion, and others. It is intended to be useful for medical doctors and nurses, for health professionals interested in public health, for mathematicians and statisticians responsible for disease monitoring and surveillance and other related disciplines that aspire in specializing in public health (e.g., social sciences).
The MPH is taught in English and relies upon an integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum taught by distinguished faculty from the Cyprus University of Technology and other leading schools of public health. The program involves 90 ECTS and it can be completed either in 14 months (September through end of October of the following year) or on a part-time basis over a period of 26 months. Applications will be reviewed on a first come basis and the application deadline is March 31, 2018.
The Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health is a member of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER).
