The successes and the first ranking positions for the Cyprus University of Technology are successive indeed.   In the "Times Higher Education, The Best Universities in New Europe," international ranking list of Universities announced on 25th of April in Czech Olomouc, CUT has been ranked in the highly honorable 2nd place among the top 50 universities in New Europe,  i.e the 13 countries who joined the European Union since 2004, and first among the Cypriot Universities.

It is noteworthy that based on the Times announcement, CUT ranks first in Europe, based on the "Citations Research Publications" criterion, which highlights its international impact of the scientific work being produced.  

Rector Professor Andreas Anayiotos stated "The good outside testimony" for the international recognition and competitiveness of our University by independent, rigorous international experts is confirmed by the announcement of "The Times Higher New Europe University Rankings" international ranking list which has ranked us 2nd Best University of New Europe. This position makes us truly proud and commits us towards prolongation of excellence in cutting-edge research and the provision of quality education.

It is recalled that the 2017-2018 list of "Times Higher Education World University Rankings" ranked CUT within the 351-400 best universities in the world and first among Cypriot universities.

It is significant to mention that in the same list the University of Cyprus is ranked 3rd , placing our country's public higher education at the top of New Europe.
