The Language Centre (LC) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is currently inviting applications for admission to its innovative, English-medium online Master's programme in Technology Enhanced Language Learning (MA in TELL) for the academic year 2024-2025. The programme is offered in collaboration with the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of CUT.
It is specially designed for people with an interest in using New Technologies as an integral part of foreign teaching and language learning. The programme has received accreditation from the Higher Education Quality Assurance and Certification Agency (CYQAA).
The programme enables participants to tailor their studies to accommodate their current professional and personal commitments while they benefit from the flexibility of remote learning and earn an accredited master’s degree from a reputable higher education institution.
The duration of the studies is 3 semesters (1.5 years) and for the successful completion of the programme students must accumulate 90 European Credit Units (ECTS).
Aims of the Programme
The programme aims to develop the necessary knowledge and skills required today for a professional career in the field of first/second/foreign language teaching using New Technologies at all levels. The Master's programme is in line with contemporary theories and methods in language teaching as it focuses on learning theories, pedagogical methods and technological applications in the teaching of language as a second or foreign language. Although not limited to teaching English as a second/foreign language, the goals of the Master's programme are aligned with the TESOL Technology Standards Framework.
The programme aims to meet the needs of teachers at all levels of education involved in foreign language instruction, catering to both European and international contexts. It includes topics such as second language acquisition, language teaching methodology, instructional technology for language teaching, language assessment, methodologies for designing and developing second language programmes, and research methods. The programme also provides the opportunity for micro-teaching, during which the students are expected to apply pedagogical methods using New Technologies.

The Master's programme in Technology Enhanced Language Learning (MA in TELL) offers the opportunity to teachers specialising in language teaching to be employed in the private and public sectors at all levels.
