Required Qualifications: Bachelor and Master from an accredited University in Agricultural Sciences or Biology or related disciplines. Applicants should be fluent in English. Previous relevant research experience will be considered.

Candidates will have to support interview for the current position.

Funding: Chosen candidate may be hired as teaching assistant, or upon his performance acquire internal scholarships. Required Qualifications: Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Science/Technology or Food Chemistry or other relevant degree in the area. Applicants should be fluent in English. Previous relevant research experience will be considered.

  • One (1) post in the topic: “Trunk diseases of tree fruit crops - Etiology, epidemiology and management”

Description: The scope of the thesis is to unravel and characterize the composition of the fungal microbiome associated with trunk diseases of tree fruit crops in Cyprus. The candidate will conduct field epidemiology studies on dominant causal agents causing relevant diseases under Cyprus conditions. Research on aspects of disease management will be also performed.

Required Qualifications: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from accredited Universities in Agricultural Sciences. The candidates should enjoy performing a combination of applied/field and basic research, whereas experience in molecular and microbiological assays will be considered an asset. Candidates should also perform very well in English (writing and verbal skills).

Funding: Funding is possible through sources of the responsible research advisor. In addition, depending on her or his expertise and qualifications the candidate could be funded as a teaching assistant in the laboratory courses of the Department, receive internal scholarships and participate in funded research projects.

  • One (1) post in the topic: “Priming of plant seeds towards improved growth and protection under stress conditions”

Description: The doctoral study aims to develop and evaluate chemical and biological seed pre-treatment technologies coupled with advanced formulation materials, with the goal to achieve improved growth and production under optimal conditions as well as abiotic stress conditions (such as drought and salinity). Interested parties are encouraged to contact the supervisor for further information.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from an accredited University in Agricultural/Biological Sciences. Fluency in English language is required.
