EUt+ Coordination Center

In 2023, within the framework of its participation in the European University of Technology (EUt+), the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), recognizing the need for more effective coordination and optimal use of resources, proceeded with the establishment of the EUt+ Coordination Center.

In June 2023, a proposal for the establishment of the Center was submitted to the Senate and the University Council. The proposal, which included provisions for the creation, management and staffing of the Center, was approved. Since July 2023, the Center has been operating to enhance the University’s involvement in EUt+ activities and to ensure that CUT’s commitments toward the EUt+ Alliance are met.

The Center is responsible for coordinating the activities of EUt+, the Erasmus+ program (KA1), as well as the research projects submitted under EUt+.

The establishment of the EUt+ Coordination Center with its current structure was deemed necessary to oversee the project’s activities, as the role and responsibilities of the Center are extensive and of paramount importance for the University’s successful participation in the European University of Technology and the achievement of its strategic goals regarding its involvement in the EUt+ Alliance.

The EUt+ Coordination Center is staffed by Academic and Administrative personnel of the University, and Research Associates who support projects, work packages, and the various Offices of the Center within the EUt+ framework.

Since EUt+ impacts the University’s functions horizontally, the EUt+ Coordination Center was created to achieve the following goals:

  • Better coordination of the University’s participation in various EUt+ activities to maximize benefits for CUT.
  • Structured and organized information sharing with University officials, faculties, and departments for effective representation of the University within the EUt+ collaborative structures.
  • Effective implementation of the University’s institutional and contractual obligations toward the Alliance while ensuring the uninterrupted operation of existing structures.
  • Elimination of overlaps between different projects and economies of scale for more efficient use of external funding.
  • Contribution to one of EUt+’s main goals: to strengthen and motivate the University’s community for mobility through the Erasmus Program, while ensuring the availability of opportunities and resources.
