Antigoni Parmaxi is a Special Teaching Staff (Greek Language) at the Language Centre of CUT and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cyprus Interaction Lab of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of CUT. She holds a BA in Classical Studies from the University of Cyprus, an MA in Pedagogical Sciences from the same University and a PhD from the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology. Antigoni has been the principal investigator of the WomenPower project (2014-2015), supported by Mahallae (funded by UNDP-ACT), aiming at the design, development, and evaluation of a platform
[...]to connect women mentors and mentees. Antigoni was also involved in the Network for Social Computing Research (NOTRE) project, funded under Horizon 2020 Twinning programme. Currently, Antigoni is the principal investigator of Openlang and FeSTEM projects supported by Erasmus+ KA2. The aim of the Erasmus KA2 OpenLang project is to develop an Open Language Network to connect and support all Erasmus+ KA1 participants during their mobilities increasing their language proficiency and also developing their intercultural and digital skills; whilst FeSTEM aims to promote an innovative method and pedagogy that will allow Higher Education students to use traditional and computationally-rich media to create meaningful, shareable exhibits that will act as mentoring models for encouraging girls and women to remain active in the field of STEM. Her research interests include social and virtual technologies, constructionist learning, teacher training and use of technology for enhancing social inclusion.
