Myrto Theocharidou is a visual artist and researcher. She is currently an MSCA Ph.D. (Innovative Training Network EU H2020 Action,
POEM) fellow student of Multimedia and Graphic Art Department at Cyprus University of Technology.
Through her PhD reseach, Myrto investigates how online photographic repositories maintained by collecting institutions are used by people and how they may influence memory and identity work. In her studies, she explores the interactions of people with digitised photographs in both formal/institutional and informal settings. Her research interests include photography, visual sociology, art and museum education with an emphasis on participatory practices
[...]and methodologies. Myrto received her MA in Nordic Visual Studies and Art Education from Aalto University at Helsinki (FI) and her BA in Visual and Performing Arts in Painting from Academy of Fine Arts of Venice (IT).
