Education: Dr Dimitris Kakoullis holds a 5y Dipl. Ing. in Urban and Spatial Planning from the University of Thessaly, Department of Urban Planning and Regional Development (PRD-UTh), a B.Sc. in Land Surveying and Geoinformatics from the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), and a Ph.D in Geomatics Engineering from the same university. His doctoral research focused on the integration of GNSS CORS and SAR Corner Reflector networks.
During his BSc studies, he was awarded for his educational results along with obtaining the highest award, graduating first in his department.
Professional background: Dr Kakoullis serves as a Researcher C
[...]within the research team of Associate Prof. Chris Danezis at the CUT Laboratory of Geodesy. Since 2019, he has played an active role in the CyCLOPS funded project. Currently, as a member of the CyCLOPS Strategic Research Infrastructure Unit, he is actively involved in the CyCLOPS+ project, which aims to develop a national platform, CyGMS, for monitoring surface displacements using InSAR and GNSS space-based technologies.
Dr Kakoullis also contributes as a Special Scientist for Geodesy courses at CUT. Moreover, with over ten years of experience as a consultant engineer specializing in land surveying, urban and spatial planning, he has participated in numerous projects across Land Surveying, and GIS.
Additionally, he holds position as the President of the Cyprus Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers since 2023, is a member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK), and a volunteer member of the Cyprus Civil Defence.
