Eleni Skalkou works as a Research Associate at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). She holds a diploma in Architectural Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, where she obtained an Integrated Master. She continued her academic career at the University of the Aegean, obtaining a Master's degree in Business Administration (Executive MBA). She is currently pursuing her PhD at CUT.
From her studies and many years of professional experience in Greece and the Netherlands, she has acquired the theoretical and practical background in architectural design, the restoration of historic buildings, urban morphology and construction management. As part of
[...]her thesis, she dealt with the architectural design and study of a modern winery, focusing on the composition, functional organization and integration of the industrial facility into the landscape.
Her research interests focus on architectural design, the history of architecture, the restoration of buildings and ensembles, as well as the integration of new technologies in the recording and documentation of architectural heritage, with an emphasis on HBIM (Heritage BIM) and three-dimensional design.
She is a registered member of the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) as well as the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
