Kostas Stylianou is a Special Scientist at the Language Centre of the Cyprus University of Technology, specialising in teaching Greek as a second language. He has a BA in Greek philology (linguistic pathway). He holds an MA in Applied Linguistics, with particular interest in Language Teaching, Discourse Analysis and Sociolinguistics. He has taught Greek as an L2 at various levels. He has worked as a teacher in several Greek/Cypriot Schools in the UK. His research interests include sociolinguistic issues in Cyprus, and the social and ideological criteria that determine Cypriots’ linguistic preferences.
