The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (www.kios.ucy.ac.cy) at the University of Cyprus announces two (2) Special Scientist for Research positions (Research Engineer I), focusing on Intelligent Transportation, for full-time employment. The successful candidate will conduct research and development activities within the context of research and innovation, as well as provide technical and research support in the area of Information and Communication Technologies with emphasis on the monitoring, control and security of critical infrastructure systems. Additionally, will implement and/or support projects in order for the Center to achieve its strategic objectives.
The successful candidate is expected to work on the following:
• Support in the preparation of multiple deliverables related to Intelligent Transportation Systems projects
• Be up to date with European Policies and Regulations related to Intelligent Transportation Systems
• Be up to date on industry and research trends related to Intelligent Transportation Systems
• Provide support on transportation research projects
• Support in the design of software modules, tools and systems related to ITS
• Perform installations, set-up and deployment of software
• Attend meetings with project stakeholders
• Act as a liaison with KIOS CoE partners
• Implement processes and algorithms
• Review and maintain of existing modules, tools, and systems
• Prepare manuals and guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil/Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited institution
• Master’s degree in Transportation will consider as advantage
• Previous experience in the area of Intelligent Transportation Systems will be considered an advantage
