A RANCARE Conference of the COST Action 15208, titled Using nurse-sensitive outcomes to indicate service-level costs of missed care, took place on 27th November 2019 in Limassol, Cyprus. The conference was co-organised by the Cyprus University of Technology and the Cyprus Nursing and Midwifery Council with Professor Kasia Bail from the University of Canberra, Australia, member of RANCARE International Partners Countries, as the invited speaker. Professor Bail’s research focuses on the improvement of care delivery for the ageing populations. RANCARE Action brings together researchers from different disciplines, professionals and other stakeholders and aims to facilitate discussions on the rationing of nursing care (conceptualisation, methodological issues, intervention design, ethics and educational issues).
Health professional and stakeholders from Cyprus attended the event and had the opportunity to discuss on topics focusing on:
- The use of nurse-sensitive outcomes to indicate service-level costs of missed care, presented by the Professor Kasia Bail University of Canberra, Australia
- The RANCARE COST Action and the 3-years of work experience, presented by Dr Evridiki Papastavrou, Associate Professor of the Nursing Department, Cyprus University of Technology (Chair of RANCARE Action)
- The economic benefits from the implementation of a comprehensive DA-HAIs control
program in an ICU in the Republic of Cyprus, presented by Dr Stelios Iordanou Nursing Officer
The conference facilitated the discussion between academics and clinicians on the conceptualisation of the care rationing phenomenon and the outcomes of nursing care on patient
