Andreas Lanitis is a Professor, in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology and a Multidisciplinary Research Group Leader at the Research Centre of Excellence on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies (RISE). Andreas received the degree of B.Eng in Electronic Engineering (1991) and PhD in Image Processing and Computer Vision (1995), both from the University of Manchester, UK. Subsequently he carried out research in the Division of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering, University of Manchester. [...]focused on Digital Image Processing, Interpretation and Synthesis, pattern identification, machine learning and Virtual Reality applications. Andreas is the founder and coordinator of the "Visual Media Computing Lab" as well as, the leader of the "Biometrics for Smart Human-centred Emerging Technologies" research team at the Research Centre of Excellence in Cyprus focusing on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies (RISE).
