Constantinos Tziouvas is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Internet Studies of the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the City University of New York, an M.Sc. degree from the University of Cyprus and a B.Sc. degree from the University of Crete. His doctoral research concentrated on Network Testing and it was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). During his Ph.D. studies, he collaborated with leading institutions in the USA, including the Naval Research Lab (NRL) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His current research focuses on the use of Big [...]Data for gaining new insights into socio-cultural phenomena.

Research

His current research work focuses on proposing and developing innovative computational techniques for the collection, processing, and analyzing vast amounts of heterogeneous data, in order to gain new insights into socio-cultural phenomena. His research also focuses on data visualization, aiming at a simple and clear representation of newly acquired knowledge.
