Stelios Stylianou (PhD in Sociology, University of Washington-Seattle, 2000; MA in Sociology, University of Washington-Seattle, 1996; BA with Highest Honors in Sociology, Hofstra University, 1993; Diploma in Education, Pedagogical Academy of Cyprus, 1989) is an associate professor in the Department of Communication and Internet Studies at the Cyprus University of Technology. He has taught various undergraduate and graduate subjects in sociology, criminology and social research methodology as a graduate lecturer at the University of Washington (1996-2000), part-time lecturer at the University of Cyprus (2000-2003) and as full time research and teaching faculty at Intercollege (2000-2007), the University of Nicosia (2007-2010) [...]

Research

His research activity is predominantly located in the field of deviance and social control. His research interests include juvenile delinquency, drug use and control, fandom and communication, television violence, and internet use.
