Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics

Welcome to the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics. It's my pleasure to introduce you to a realm where engineering innovation meets the precision of geomatics.

Our department offers advanced undergraduate and graduate programs in Civil Engineering and Geomatics. The Civil Engineering program covers structural engineering, sustainable construction techniques, hydraulic engineering, and transportation systems. It equips students with the skills to create resilient infrastructure, apply advanced materials, and assess environmental impacts.

The Geomatics program extends beyond traditional surveying and integrates disciplines like satellite geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing, cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), and spatial data analysis. This diverse curriculum prepares students to tackle complex issues in land management, environmental monitoring, and urban planning using cutting-edge geospatial technologies.

Our faculty and students are at the forefront of research in earth observation, geospatial data analysis, earthquake engineering, and sustainable construction materials. These efforts are complemented by our state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities, including the ERATOSTHENES Research Center of Excellence. This center, a product of the prestigious EXCELSIOR European research grant, shows our devotion to pioneering research and global collaboration.

Our mission extends beyond academia. We strive to make significant contributions to society through innovative research projects, collaborations with industry leaders, or community engagement initiatives. These activities underscore our commitment to addressing real-world problems and enhancing the quality of life nationally and internationally.

As we look to the future, we are excited about expanding our horizons and embracing new technologies and methodologies that will shape the fields of civil engineering and geomatics. We invite you to stay connected with us and follow our journey towards educational and scientific excellence.

Embark on a virtual tour of our department and explore the exciting opportunities that await you at the CUT Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics. Together, let's build a sustainable and technologically advanced future.

Wishing you an insightful journey,
