Inno EUt+ as a key element of the EUt+ Limassol Week

The Limassol EUt+ week took place last week with great success, during which Inno EUt+, as a key element of its interactive workshops, actions, events and discussions, inspired and imparted knowledge and experiences to students from the 8 universities of the European Technological Alliance University (EUt+) had the opportunity to come together and take part.

In particular, the week started with a Business Idea Generator workshop where multicultural teams of students from all EUt+ partners were formed to find solutions to specific challenges, given by experts from the world of start-ups, NGOs or local authroties.

The workshop, in the form of a Hackathon, was an excellent opportunity for students to work on a real social societal problem, come up with ideas and create the prototype of a solution, which they presented! The highlight of the day was the ice-breaking challenge where teams of students were challenged to build a tall "tower" using only ... spaghetti and marshmallows. This challenge emphasizes team communication, leadership dynamics, collaboration, innovation and problem-solving strategy.

As the CEO of EMBIO diagnostics, Constantinos Loizou, who participated as a “Problem Owner”, later said "We planted seeds of innovation and entrepreneurial curiosity through an activity that the students will remember forever".

This was followed by an open discussion on "Failures: the key to success?", where attendees and participants had the opportunity to see examples of how great businesses failed along the way but that did not mean their destruction forever. Rémi Vedani (UTT) stressed in his presentation that failures are part of the process and should be embraced and taken as a step forward.

The second speaker Martin Bocken (Co-Founder of HyLight) shared his own personal failure with the audience and ended with a powerful quote: "anything is possible for those who dream, dare, work and never give up".

The week ended with a simulation game ( Launch Game) held in Larnaca, which is going to host the first EUt+ alliance degree in English in the future.

The Launch Game is a simulation tool that helped the participants to understand the steps that a start-up has to go through in its first two years of its operation !

The above events were organized by the Innovative European University of Technology (Inno-EUt+) partners aiming to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurial capacity

of EUt+ partners.

The whole event was an opportunity for both the university and the local community to get involved both culturally and socially in the alliance and to develop new methods of cooperation with a focus always on promoting youth entrepreneurship.
