The Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts aims to develop and disseminate cross-disciplinary academic values and knowledge in the areas of Multimedia and the Graphic Arts that will contribute to internationally recognized research work and also support the applied, professional and academic development of our graduates.
The Department aims to achieve international standards of excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate education in the fields of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. It fosters interdisciplinarity in design and promotes collaboration between industry, academia and research organisations.
The emphasis and investment in strong theoretical and methodological basis, new technology, creativity, aesthetics, design, innovation, and interdisciplinarity, as well as recognizing and utilizing the complexity of the related academic fields, are characteristics of our multidisciplinary department.

The objectives of the Department are:

To provide quality undergraduate and graduate academic experience and skills for successful careers to students from Cyprus and from neighboring countries, including EU countries.
To provide the latest scientific training in Multimedia and Graphic Arts.
To undertake and carry out high-level research work and scope.
To form ties with both local and international centers which operate in the fields of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, through research and teaching activities.
To facilitate and expand international cooperation and educational mobility and movement of students and academics, particularly in the European area.
To provide the basis for the promotion of lifelong learning.
The graduates of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts will be able to:
Develop ideas, concepts, proposals, solutions and arguments individually or/and in groups in relation to assigned projects or based on personal initiative.
Develop convergent or divergent ideas with regard to observation, research, consideration, visualization, design and development of integrated solutions.
Select, test and use different tools, materials, methodologies, processes, environments and contexts, and / or a combination of them, for predefined tasks.
Improve integrated solutions such as artifacts, environments, processes, products, systems, applications, graphics and multimedia applications. These might include (but are not limited) concerning: images, graphics, texts, typographic applications, various audiovisual elements and algorithms.
Search, evaluate, manage and disseminate information and knowledge (information literacy, information management and prioritization, knowledge transfer).
Properly manage the interaction between intention, process, results, contexts and dissemination methods
Be creative, innovative, resourceful, entrepreneurial and socially mature.
Have the qualifications for professional development in areas related to Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Applied Arts and Creative Technologies.
