A Programme bringing Multimedia and Graphic Arts together,
with a focus on Art & Technology and Evidence-based Design
The Program of Multimedia and Graphic Arts blends the methodologies and practices of design, technology and art, focusing on the production of creative and evidence-driven solutions and services.
The Program has two pathways. Student enter one of the pathways via National Exams of the Ministry of Education.
The Graphic Arts pathway promotes students’ knowledge and skills in the area of graphic design, via courses on drawing and composition, photography, information technology, history of art and typography, whilst deepening in digital design, human-centred design, applications in typography, semiotics and visual communication, visual identity, advertising etc. Students acquire strong skills in using design methodologies and new technologies to produce applied graphic design.
The Multimedia pathway promotes students’ knowledge and skills in the area of multimedia design via courses on drawing and composition, graphic design, photography, information technology and history of art, whilst deepening in digital design, animation, human-centred design, audiovisual production, interactive multimedia, film production, web development and computer games.
In both pathways, during the 7th semester, students are placed in the industry for their internship. During the 8th semester, students complete a BA thesis under the supervision of the Department's academic staff (Option 1*) or take elective courses with equivalent learning outcomes (Option 2*).
