  • The VMC Lab  Coordinator (Andreas Lanitis) delivered an invited talk on the topic of 'Aspects of Facial Aging in Face Image De-identification' at the 1st Training School on De-identification for Privacy on Multimedia Content, organized by the COST Action IC1206 (De-identification for privacy protection in multimedia content)

September 2015

  • The VMC Lab participates in another two recently acquired HORIZON2020 Projects. The project ENCASE (Enhancing Security and Privacy in the Social Web: a user-centered approach for the protection of minors. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE), Call: H2020-MSCA-RISE-2015) and the project NOTRE (Network for Social Computing Research”. Call: H2020-TWINN-2015). Both projects are due to start during January 2016.

June 2015

  • The VMC Lab participates in two recently acquired HORIZON2020 Projects. The project RISE (Research centre in Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies-TEAMING: H2020-WIDESPREAD-2014-1) and the project INCEPTION (Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D semantic modelling-H2020-REFLECTIVE-7-2014). Both projects are due to start during June 2015.

April 2015

  • The VMC Lab is actively involved in the organization of the 4th International Workshop on Biometrics and Forensics (IWBF), 2016. 

January 2015

  • The VMC Lab is actively involved in the organization of the first ever independent age progression performance evaluation as part of the FG2015 Conference. The results of the evaluation will be presented at the FG2015 conference

  • The VMC lab coordinator becomes the National Contact Point for the European Association of Biometrics (EAB)

  • The book "Age Factors in Biometric Processing" edited by Michael Fairhurst is available for order. Members of VMC Lab contributed a chapter in the book. 
  • “The Use of Information Technology Applications for Supporting the Study and Interpretation of Terracotta Figurines from the House of Orpheus in Nea Paphos“ was presented at the "Conference on Hellenistic and Roman Terracottas: Mediterranean Networks and Cyprus, 2013.". The conference was organized by the Archaeological Research Unit, University of Cyprus.
