Scholarships

The University grants the following types of scholarships making use of the gross income derived each year from the tuition fees collected for postgraduate courses and other revenues obtained beyond the state grant:

  1. Social Support Scholarships for Masters Level Students
  2. Social Support Scholarships for PhD level students
  3. Scholarships of Academic Excellence for new entrants to doctoral programs

A significant amount of scholarships are given each year to students through different processes by private Institutes/Associations.

Doctoral Student Grant Process for Presentation at a Conference

All PhD students are entitled to apply for a grant of up to € 1,000 for covering expenses related to presentation (oral presentation or poster presentation) at a scientific conference. The presentation must take place after the student has successfully completed the comprehensive examination and before completing the requirements of the doctoral program.

Applications are submitted electronically followed by a relevant announcement by the Service for Academic Affairs and Student Welfare in the first two weeks of each academic semester and must relate to presentations that have already took place or will take place in the future, by physical presence or via teleconference.

Employment

The University provides funding for graduate students to work at the University to meet the needs of the Department.  Work assistance means auxiliary teaching, teaching tutorials, teaching exercises, laboratory monitoring, correcting written etc. monthly earnings can amount to EUR 683 with maximum period of employment of 8 hours per week. In the case of employment less than 8 hours is given as a ratio of salary.

Doctoral students can be employed as teaching assistants.  The positions for teaching assistant are posted publicly on the website of the University.  In the event of them being employed, students receive an e-mail from the human resources department in which they are informed of the procedures that you must follow for the needs of their payroll.

The Departments also post for the need of research assistants depending on their needs.  The conditions and qualifications of candidates are noted in the post depending on the area of research.

Also, the Student Development Center employs graduate students to offer tutoring courses at undergraduate level for students experiencing difficulties. Finally, all students can, apply to work under the policy of hourly rates for Student Employment.
