ONE (1) POSITION OF COMMUNICATION, EVENTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) (www.eratosthenes.org.cy) of the Cyprus University of Technology (www.cut.ac.cy) invites applications for one position of Communication, Events and Social Media Officer at ERATOSTHENES CoE. The position is open either on a full-time or part-time employment basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

A core activity of ERATOSTHENES CoE is to conduct high caliber, state-of-the-art research, both basic and applied. A central task is to acquire research funding for the Centre, to provide facilities to the researchers, and to support them to acquire funding for their research independently and via international and local collaborations. Collaborations with industrial partners will be particularly encouraged and facilitated. The Communication, Events and Social Media Officer duties and responsibilities will be directed into implementing these key targets.

In particular, the successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:

• Write, edit, and distribute content, including newsletters, press releases, website content, and other marketing material that communicates the organisation's activities and/or services;

• Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the organisation, and coordinate publicity events as required;

• Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics;

• Prepare and manage social media communications;

• Assist in organisation of events/activities;

• Plan meetings and take detailed minutes;

• Provide general support to visitors;

• Maintain contact lists;

• Promote communication and dissemination activities of funded projects;

• Any other relevant duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, Journalism, Media or a related discipline;

• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken; additional languages will be considered a plus;

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;

• Excellent time management and organizational skills;

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.

• Excellent team working ability;

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment;

• Ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment;

• Comprehension of Earth Observation and Remote Sensing related topics will be considered as a plus.

The appointment will be for a period of two years (24 months) with the prospect of renewal for another two years. The gross annual salary for the (full-time) position will range from €24500 to €37667, depending on qualifications. It is noted that there is provision for 13th salary which has been proportionally incorporated in the monthly remuneration.
