Trainee Marine Electronics Service Technician (Marine Electronics - Navigation and Communication)
MLV Marine Ltd. (based in Larnaca) are an award winning Global Technical service supplier to the Shipping industry specialising in Marine Electronics, Navigation and Satellite Communication with major International Shipping companies as clients.
We are looking to hire a Trainee Marine Electronics Service Technician, ideally a university or technical school graduate with a focus in Electronics or Computer Networking, to join our team for a permanent role based in Larnaca with a great career path which will take approximately 2 years to become a fully qualified service technician.
A service technician travels independently and frequently visiting clients vessels. If you can see yourself working in an open, friendly, active, always evolving and productive workplace, we would like to talk! Full training and mentorship for the successful candidate will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
• To follow the Technical Managers training program and to plan attendances to attend with a trained service technician to see the correct engineering procedures and practices used
• To understand the competencies and capabilities of MLV Marine and align with the core values of MLV Marine
• Understand and follow the basics for Installing, configuring, repairing and troubleshooting of Marine Navigation, Satellite Communication, Radio equipment and Voyage Data Recorders
• As knowledge and competence levels are increased of the Trainee, more responsibilities will be handed over including Equipment configuration, Surveys and basic installations/servicing of hardware and software when required
• To meet and set expectations in a timely manner
• Maintain all equipment in order and calibrated, workshop to be maintained and materials required for servicing to be replenished
• To ensure the proper and smooth planning for attending client vessels for service and installation of client equipment in accordance with the operations department and to be prepared as per technical departments procedures
Job Requirements
• Technical School completion or Engineering Graduate with focus on Electronics or Computers
• Previous exposure to Electronics, networking and Electrical work/projects will be a major advantage
• Regular International Travel to Vessels
• Installation and service of Marine Electronic and Satellite Communication equipment
• A Basic knowledge of Computer Networks, AC Power and DC Power is required
• Proactive and efficient with strong organizational skills
• The ability to communicate and write technical service reports detailing tasks carried out

• After the 2 year training program is complete, the ability to multitask, prioritise and work independently
• Able to work on call schedule

A remuneration package is offered to the successful candidate. The 13th salary is offered after successful completion of the 6 month probation period.
