RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION

(Graduate associate or Post-doctoral researcher)

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill one (1) Full-time/Part-time Research Fellow position (Graduate associate or Post-doctoral researcher) at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics in the field of “Atmospheric Research and Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere”.

Applicants should have:

• A Degree from a recognized University (diploma/master) in one or a combination of the following fields of study: physics, or environmental studies, or meteorology
• Knowledge in scientific programming
• Ability for scientific communication in English
• Willingness to participate in scientific experiments and field campaigns
• Willingness to travel abroad and to participate in training activities and workshops
• Organizational skills
• Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)

The following will be considered as an advantage:

• Experience in preparing, submitting, and managing research projects.
• Experience in atmospheric remote sensing techniques
• Possession of a Ph.D. title.

Τhe appointment will be from 2/5/2023 since 31/10/2023. The monthly gross salary for the position will be  €1653,61 depending on qualifications. It is noted that there is provision for 13th salary (the cost of the 13th salary has been proportionally incorporated in the monthly remuneration as analyzed above).

The Scientific approach will include:

• Remote Sensing Observations for Atmospheric Research
• Analysis of atmospheric ground-based observations with remote sensing instruments
• Analysis of space-borne remote sensing atmospheric parameters in support of ground-based observation
• Synergetic analysis of multi-platform aerosol datasets (e.g spaceborne and ground based remote-sensing and in situ)
• Development of innovative data processing chains
• Follow up quality standards and quality assurance tools of ground remote sensing observations
