Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the operation of the technical department
- Assists in the performance of technical due diligence of ships
- Monitors vessels and ensures that they comply with International Conventions and Codes such as SOLAS, MARPOL, LL, MLC, and ISM Code
- Monitors Classification Societies
- Monitors Port State Control matters (Inspections, Detentions)
- Assist in the review of subcontractors relating to the Technical Department
- Performs evaluation of vessels prior registration
- Monitors vessel movements through LRIT Database
- Organizes and monitors Flag Safety Inspections
- Reviews technical documents (statutory certificates, etc.) of the vessels
- Monitors the safety and security aspects of vessels
- Implements a Policy set by the management of the company
- Carries out other activities as required
Qualifications:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or other shipping related degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Greek
- Good presentation, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- High sense of responsibility and accuracy
- Fast moving and fast thinking person
- Previous work experience in shipping industry will be considered as an advantage
- Knowledge of key IMO Conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW etc) will be considered as an advantage
