Site Engineer

The incumbent holding this position is accountable for coordinating the Site activities under the directions of the Project Engineer in all respects liaising with Project Engineer and the Project team.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures the Sites’ smooth operations at all times
  • Coordinates the site activities under the directions of the Project/Asphalt Operations/Facilities Manager in all respects liaising with the client stakeholders, the project consultants and the project team members, including the site foreman, land and quantity surveyors, operators and workers
  • Closely coordinates progress of works in line with the program of works
  • Assists in the preparation of schedules of works & enquiries for procurement of materials & subcontracts
  • Responsible for the daily site works supervision
  • Responsible for plant, material and labour requirements
  • Assists in the execution of the project as per the planned construction programme
  • Monitors daily productions and keeps records
  • Controls & monitors material stocks and carries out materials reconciliations
  • Maintains an understanding of the contract documents, appropriate codes, standards and specifications
  • Assists in the preparation of the daily report / monthly progress report
  • Keeping records for QA & QC
  • Responsible for Waste Management according to the quality controls and health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures
  • Assists in the preparation of Quality, Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (QHSSE) Management Plan
  • Observes the Statutory, Contractual and Company requirements with regards to Quality, Health, Safety, Security and the Environment and abides by any rules applicable to his/her scope of work
  • Ensures in co-operation with the Safety Officer the identification of hazards at the workplace and suggests appropriate control measures to reduce risks in working people and the environment
  • Updates the Safety File of the site
  • Keeping abreast with developments related to own role and competitor’s activities
  • Other responsibilities and Site related work as defined in the Group’s procedures or as instructed by the Project/Asphalt Operations/Facilities Manager
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments
