Junior Compliance Officer

On behalf of our Client, a leading maritime satellite communications and technologies provider, we are looking for a Junior Compliance Officer to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Supports the compliance function on a group level by handling various jurisdictions simultaneously.
• Supports monitoring and auditing processes to detect and prevent compliance violations.
• Supports identification of potential compliance risks and supports strategies to mitigate them.
• Conducts regular risk assessments
• Monitors regulatory developments and industry trends to anticipate potential compliance issues.
• Interprets and communicates regulatory requirements to relevant stakeholders within the company.
• Collaborates with legal counsel to ensure the company’s policies and procedures are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Supports managers in tasks regarding compliance-related investigations, including client complaints, allegations of misconduct or violations.
• Ensures timely and accurate reporting of compliance-related information to senior management as required.
• Monitors changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards that may impact the company’s compliance requirements.
• Assesses the impact of regulatory changes and update the compliance program accordingly.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration/business management, political science, maritime studies) is required.
• Postgraduate experience in a compliance role, preferably within a regulated environment, will be considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of relevant maritime laws, regulations, and industry standards will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of compliance frameworks and risk management practices.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the company.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.
