Electrical Engineer

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage execution and timely completion of electrical engineering projects by analysing project scope and determining project specifications
  • Evaluate applications and components of electrical / plumbing / electronic systems design and development, with an eye on areas where cost and/or other improvements can be made
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex electrical / plumbing / electronics design problems, and develop innovative solutions based on project requirements and organizational standards
  • Designs, implements, maintains, or improves electrical and/or plumbing instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, systems, and testing methods to examine product quality and capability—always adhering to organizational standards and expectations
  • Coordinates installation, maintenance, support, and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and company/customer requirements, maintaining project scopes, schedules, and budgets at all times
  • Analyses project requirements and performs technical calculations supporting design, including electrical requirements, safety standards, and motor controls
  • Develops and implements databases to track production processes
  • Recommends electrical and plumbing equipment and systems for use in all kind of construction projects  
  • Evaluates systems, products, components, and applications by conducting market research
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by implementing testing methods
  • Assures product quality by applying testing methods; testing of finished products and systems
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for all electrical designs, including wiring diagrams/schematics, bill of materials, assembly drawings, and design changes, test reports, design-validation plan, and reports to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
  • Shares electrical engineering information across teams and departments to facilitate successful completion of all kind of construction Projects
  • Expands professional and technical knowledge of leading-edge developments in electrical / plumbing engineering through participation in professional organizations, networking events, and educational workshops
  • Review industry publications to maintain a current perspective on the electrical / plumbing engineering field
  • Resolves any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise
  • Maintains accurate records for QA and QC
  • Implements and promotes Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Management policies and procedures, including the implementation of the obligations undertaken by the Company under the specific contract, where applicable
  • Co-operates with the assigned Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Officer/Representative and ensures that his/her recommendations for control measures are implemented accordingly
  • General:
    • Keeping abreast with developments related to own role and competitor’s activities
    • Other responsibilities and project related work as defined in the Group’s procedures or as instructed by the Project Engineer / Project Manager
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments
