The Software Engineer will be responsible for design, coding, debugging, maintaining, supporting, implementing, and validating internal applications whilst collaborating and communicating with appropriate parties. S/he will further be engaged on the company’s modernization process by working on migrating tools to the cloud.
Key responsibilities include:
Extending the Atlassian Jira platform by developing and maintaining custom plugins and implementing platform configuration changes.
Regularly monitoring the system for performance issues, troubleshooting, performing necessary updates, and providing support for any technical challenges related to Jira usage across the organization.
Performing corrective measures for moderately complex code deficiencies and escalating alternative proposals as necessary.
Communicating and enforcing coding standards.
If you have the following skills, we may have a role to suit you:
Strong knowledge of Java and programming concepts
Knowledge of database concepts
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Familiarity with Git
Administrative skills or experience of Linux operating systems
Excellent problem-solving abilities and an ability to identify opportunities for process improvement
Effective communication and relationship skills.
The following skills would be advantageous:
Knowledge of Groovy, ReactJS, Node.JS, REST API’s
Working knowledge in Atlassian Jira
Knowledge of cloud technology (AWS, Azure etc).
Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
Other requirements:
Educated to degree level (e.g.: BSc, MSc, B Tech) in an IT related subject such as Computer Science or MIS
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
Flexibility to provide support on non-working hours (on-call) like during project post-go-live.
