Please make sure that upon arrival at the University, you arrange a meeting with the International Students Support Office (tel.: 25 002415, mail: internatioanlstudents@cut.ac.cy), between 9:00-13:00 (Mon-Fri) for providing guidance on the procedure regarding the issuing of the Temporary Residence Permit Visa.
EU/EEA Students
Within three months from the day of their arrival in Cyprus, all nationals of EU/EEA member states must submit the application form MEU1A (click here), duly completed and signed, along with the following documents, to the Civil Registry and Migration Department, for the issue of a Temporary Residence Permit:
- A valid passport or identity card and a copy of it
- A registration letter from the Cyprus University of Technology
- A solemn declaration from the student or any other proof that he/she has sufficient resources to support himself/herself and family
- A certificate that they are covered by a private health insurance in respect of all risks within the Republic of Cyprus, unless they are holders of the European Medical Card E111
- A documentary proof that they are covered by a medical insurance in their countries
- Two passport size photographs
Non-EU/EEA Students
Within ten days from their arrival in Cyprus, non-EU/EEA students should submit the application form M61 (click here), duly completed and signed, along with the following documents, to the Civil Registry and Migration Department, for the issue of a Temporary Residence Permit:
- Certified copy of passport, valid for at least 2 years
- Original Entry Visa
- An acceptance letter from the University of Cyprus, with a full description of the programme of studies and its duration
- Original medical examinations for hepatitis B and C, HIV and Syphilis, as well as Chest X-Ray (testing for Tuberculosis). Upon arrival in Cyprus, each student must undergo these medical examinations. The results must be presented to the Medical and Public Health Services, Ministry of Health, in order to be signed and stamped by a government doctor.
- Proof of a comprehensive health insurance in the Republic of Cyprus
- A confirmation letter from a bank in the Republic of Cyprus that the student has deposited a satisfactory amount to cover his/her living expenses and tuition fees for the period that the residence permit is applied (minimum balance €5.000 or €2.000, if you have a scholarship)
- A rental agreement/contract certified by the Community Council President in the area (your landlord will be able to tell you where you can find the Community Council President)
- Fees: €34,17 fee for the application form M61 (Resident Permit Card), €70 fee for the Alien Registration Document and a fee of €15 for the government doctor to certify the medical examinations results mentioned above.
Important Notes
- You must visit in person the Migration Department, in order for them to record your biometric features (fingerprints and photograph), as well as your signature.
- The International Support Office will inform you when your Pink Slip will be ready (the process takes approximately 3 months).
- Your Pink Slip will be automatically cancelled if you stay abroad for a period of more than three months. In such a case, the International Support Office must be informed accordingly, in order to apply for your Return Visa.
