The academic workload for a Master degree cannot be less than 90 ects, where one credit represents 25-30 teaching hours.  Degrees that may be above the 120 credits include Practicum.

The Master Degree can be completed with or without a Thesis.

Also to attain the Master degree the following are required:

• A duration of at least three academic semesters or 13 consecutive calendar months. The maximum duration of study is eight academic semesters.
• Successful completion 90-120 am (or more than 120 in the case of internships) as provided by the curriculum and the internal rules of the Department. If the program includes a dissertation, then the workload corresponding to the dissertation should not be more than half of the total workload of the program.
• One of the courses in the program may be an undergraduate course of any Department, which is expected to be of advanced level and will be counted towards completing the required credits in the postgraduate program. Provided that credits of each course is recognized only once.
• There are two kinds of modules.  Compulsory and limited.  With Limited modules, the student has the ability to choose from a limited set of modules defined by the Department.
• A student who has successfully completed courses under another postgradute program may have up to 24 ects recognized towards their degree, provided that the units to be recognized will not correspond to more than two courses.  
• A Thesis completed under a different postgraduate program cannot be credited towards the current master she/he is attending.

The Department regulates with special internal rules how to prepare and evaluate Masters degree Dissertations as well as the minimum and maximum length of the document. A necessary condition for the evaluation of the Masters Degree Dissertation is to be evaluated, independently, by at least two judges. Master Degrees are rated numerically.

In case of rejection of the dissertation, the student is entitled to re-submit the dissertation once again. The Department is responsible for defining the procedures in force in this case. This is all provided that re-submission of the dissertation should take place within eight (8) academic semesters, which is the maximum duration of a Master's degree.

Self-termination of study

Studying in graduate and postgraduate is automatically terminated without the award of a Title or other diploma or certificate if:

• After completing a total of eight academic semesters without having fully met the requirements of the curriculum attended by.
• the Master's degree Master's Thesis is a mandatory requirement of the student's curriculum and the student has failed to successfully defend his thesis for the second time.

Has not enrolled in courses for two consecutive semesters and written efforts to communicate with him on behalf of the University was not successful.​
