MSc Financial Management

STRUCTURE & CONTENT

The students of MSc Financial Management program will deepen their knowledge in the field of business management from the financial perspective, mainly in raising funds for business creation and development as well as entrepreneurship management related to small and medium business financial policies. Students will examine extensively the creation of a business plan and a feasibility study, which is a tool in the entrepreneur's arsenal and helps the development of the business mindset, attitude and skills necessary to succeed in business capital management. Graduates of the Program will be equipped with advanced knowledge in financing new business ventures and financial management of companies.

Apart from developing the required soft and hard skills related to the business management and business financing, the Program aims to develop students' ability to analyze, understand and evaluate advanced issues related to the functioning of financial markets, asset management, asset valuation, investment valuation and financial risk management. The MSc Corporate Financial Management provides students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and quantitative tools used in modern financial methodology so as to utilize analytical problem-solving skills to meet current and future industry challenges.

The Program offers both in-depth academic and professional competencies, so as to enable the holders of MSc in Financial Management to be among the best applicants for high positions with financial consultants, banking industry, financial departments of local as well as multinational organizations, forex brokers, hedge funds etc.

Additionally, it enables students to broaden their potential to conduct empirical and applied research through the preparation of a Postgraduate Thesis for further deepening in academic concepts, whilst provides them with access to doctoral programs of prestigious universities as well as pursuing their studies towards acquisition of professional qualifications (CFA, FRM, ACCA/ACA etc.).

Last but not least, the Internship offers the suitable opportunity for the students who opt for, to understand the problems and trends governing businesses in the financial or adjacent sector, by integrating them in an environment of real working conditions.

ADMISSION

Eligibility

Eligible to apply for the Master's programs are:

  1. Bachelor’s degree holders from a recognized university,
  2. Holders of a degree which has been recognized by the Cyprus Council of Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (KYSATS) to be an equivalent to a bachelor’s degree,
  3. Undergraduate students, who are expected to receive a bachelor’s degree prior to the commencement of the Master’s program.

 

Application outcome

Candidates will be informed by email of the outcome of their application (correspondence will be sent to the email address stated when submitting the application). Candidates can be also informed about the progress and the outcome of their application through the University Portal.

Supporting documentation

To apply, one must attach the following documents:

  • Photocopy of identity card or passport
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Photocopy of bachelor’s degree (or a certificate confirming that the bachelor’s degree will be obtained prior to the commencement of the Master’s program)
  • Detailed transcript of bachelor’s degree
  • Attaching letters of recommendation is not necessary. It is necessary though to state two names / details / telephone numbers of persons who could be potential referees and, if deemed necessary, the Department will contact them directly.

Significant note: Even though a certificate of proficiency in English is not required during the application process, applicants should be aware that for all Master’s programs a very good command of English is necessary.

The Department reserves the right to request additional -confidential or not- information or documentation from the candidate.

Advance payment and tuition fees
