Planning Assistant
The Role
As part of the Operations team, the planning assistant will participate in managing and optimizing the human and material resources allocated, to reach the area’s operational and financial objectives. Furthermore, one of the main objectives will be to give support to the Planning Manager to properly allocate drivers and buses to the different services defined, while always respecting and following the established parameters and the safety policies defined by the Company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Some of the main responsibilities are, but will not be limited to:
• Assisting with the rostering of the service.
• Helping and supporting the supervision of the proper allocation of each resource, drivers, and buses, to the different services defined.
• Receiving, collecting, and processing all the information that comes from the daily operative in terms of incidents, problems, and changes done along the day.
• Ensuring that drivers are being allocated to duties within the safety parameters defined by the Company.
• Collaborating to ensure proper allocations of buses to services, following the rules defined and ensuring the proper allocation from a maintenance point of view.
• Performing all the operational simulations of the allocation of resources, both drivers and buses, to the different services defined, making proposals for better optimization of those resources.
• Keeping appropriate relations with IT suppliers to ensure that the IT equipment is always up to date.
• Attending and solving issues that are given throughout the day according to the level of responsibility.
• Ensuring compliance with the regulations and safety policy, risk prevention, data protection, and quality and environment policies, established in the field of occupations.
• Cooperating with the Planning Manager, planning team, and rest of the Operations department (i.e., depot manager, service supervisors, etc) with as many tasks required.
Qualifications and Experience
• No previous experience is required however, hands-on experience in a similar role or work field will be considered an asset.
• Proficiency or bilingual level in both Greek and English. Some knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset.
• Minimum level of education: bachelor’s degree.
• Results-oriented, analytical, and methodical skills are essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Enjoy working as part of a team and prefers collaborative work.
• Experience using Microsoft 365 Package; Excel, Word, Outlook, etc., and being IT-knowledgeable.
• Being able to work under strict deadlines and having stress-resistance skills.
