Logistics and Distribution Manager (Cyprus) | MP-1023-LDM
Manpower Cyprus, on behalf of our client, one of the leading international logistics organizations, we are seeking to recruit a high calibre professional for the position of Logistics and Distribution Manager, to be based at our client’s offices in Cyprus.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will develop and implement logistics solutions that meet and exceed customers’ shipping requirements, especially supply chain inventory velocity and fill rates. He/She will be responsible for setting-up procedures and maintaining the day-to-day operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, experienced Manager with excellent business acumen and commercial flair, to own a growing P&L with the freedom to manage it like your own business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops and deploys strategies that enable growth, improve costs, and ensure performance
Creates and fosters a continuous improvement approach/culture to improving the business (internally & externally)
Foster and develop a winning team of distribution and logistics professionals with a wide range of expertise
Develops and manages 3PL relationships – ensure competitive pricing, agreements and performance, business reviews – that provide services of warehousing, distribution, and other related activities
Leads efforts in Distribution Network Optimization, including but not limited to, direct shipments to customers from other company shipping locations
Proactively meets with customers for relationship building and service/cost improvement opportunities through collaboration efforts
Assumes direct responsibility for shipping facilities and respective managers
Develops and implements contingency plans to address logistics risks
Manage, monitor and develop the team of operational staff
Identify business opportunities and improve overall market share
Achieve significant P&L success as evidenced by measurable improvements in revenue, margin, cost efficiency, profitability, employee productivity, safety and compliance
Be able to work freely in European Union
Skills and Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business discipline required; Master’s Degree will be an advantage
10 years of logistics experience; 7 years of experience in a Managerial role
Strong knowledge of transportation and distribution systems as well as warehousing systems
Working knowledge of customs compliance regulations and import/export processes preferred
Strong strategic, problem-solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on cross-functional teams
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects
Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Can work independently in ambiguous situations
Team oriented, collaborative partner that passionately advocates and articulates opinion while maintaining flexibility to incorporate others point of views
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English and Greek)
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
