JOB TITLE: Cost Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting financial data to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making related to cost management. The person will involve assessing costs across various departments, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize financial performance. The person should also possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. In addition, providing technical assistance and support to individuals or organizations using computer systems, software, and hardware.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Cost Calculation: Run costing process in the ERP system with all related integrity reports.
2.Cost Analysis: Analyse financial data, including expenses, and operational costs, to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.
3.Cost Estimation: Develop cost estimates for new projects and products considering factors such as labour, materials, depreciation, and overheads. Collaborate with sales and production teams to ensure accurate and realistic cost projections.
4.Cost Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate cost analysis findings, financial performance, and key metrics to management and relevant stakeholders.
5.Pricing Analysis: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to analyse pricing strategies, assess profitability, and support pricing decisions.
6.Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain deviations between actual costs and calculated amounts, investigating underlying causes and recommending corrective actions.
7.Cost Optimization: Evaluate existing processes, procedures, and systems to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and operational effectiveness.
8.Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding computer systems, software, hardware, and network-related issues.
9.Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems reported by users, either in person, over the phone, or via remote assistance tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics,
•Diploma/Bachelor or Certificates at IT related field. A master's degree or professional certification is a plus.
•Experience as a Cost Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a complex organization.
•Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data.
•Proficiency in cost accounting principles, techniques, and methodologies
•Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and financial analysis tools. Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle JDE) is preferred.
•Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets while maintaining accuracy.
•High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
