RESEARCH FELLOW (POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER – R2**) POSITION

 

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill one (1) Part-time Postdoctoral Researcher – R2** the field of consumer behaviour and behavioural interventions. The project aims at exploring behavioural interventions in the form of Nudges (Thaler and Sunstein, 2008) and specifically how human behaviours can be changed to follow more sustainable alternatives using scientific insights. The researcher will develop an understanding on the psychology of consumer decision-making and on important drivers of everyday decisions. The project aims at assisting consumers in making better decisions for their own and the wider societal good with the areas of interest including, but not limited to, green consumption, information divulgence and scam avoidance. The candidate will demonstrate a tracked record of quantitative and qualitative skills and will have knowledge of relevant software.

The successful applicant will be funded and also have money allowance for conducting the required research (information below). Opportunities and coverage of certain conference expenses abroad will be provided. Additionally, the candidate will have opportunities for paid teaching positions in the department, based on performance.

Applicants should have:

  1. A PhD from a recognized university in one of the following fields of study: Consumer Behaviour (or Marketing) / Psychology/ Economics.
  2. Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)

 

The following will be considered as an advantage:

  • Experience in preparing, submitting, and managing research projects.

 

Τhe appointment will be for a period of six (6) months with the prospect of renewal for twelve (12) months. The monthly gross salary for the position will be €1877,52, based on the legislation currently in effect. From this amount, employee contributions will be deducted, according to current legislation. It is noted that there is provision for 13th salary (the cost of the 13th salary has been proportionally incorporated in the monthly remuneration as analyzed above).
