Το Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου δέχεται αιτήσεις για την πλήρωση μίας (1) θέσης Ερευνητικού Συνεργάτη (Μεταπτυχιακός Συνεργάτης / Βοηθός Ερευνητής Α)  στο Τμήμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Ηλεκτρονικών Υπολογιστών και Πληροφορικής για πλήρη απασχόληση στο ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα «Ψηφιακό Τόξο Πολιτισμού Ελλάδας – Κύπρου: Διάσωση και ανάδειξη της Μεσαιωνικής πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς στη νησιωτική περιοχή του Αιγαίου και της Κύπρου» (DigiArc) στο γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Digital Heritage – Project Manager».

Η θέση αποσκοπεί στον συντονισμό και διαχείριση του έργου (Project Manager).

Γενικότερα:

Στο πλαίσιο της υλοποίησης του έργου οι ενέργειες διαχείρισης που αναλογούν στον επιτυχών υποψήφιο, περιλαμβάνουν τα παρακάτω:

• Διαχείριση και διοίκηση – παρακολούθηση του έργου.
• Γραμματειακή Υποστήριξη έργου.
• Διοικητική Υποστήριξη.
• Ενταλματοποίηση Δαπανών.
• Λογιστικοποίηση Δαπανών.
• Προέλεγχος Επιλεξιμότητας Δαπανών.
• Εξόφληση Δαπανών.
• Προετοιμασία τευχών δημοπράτησης προμηθειών και υπηρεσιών, και ολοκλήρωση διαδικασίας συμβασιοποίησης.
• Διοικητική και Οικονομική Παρακολούθηση (Παρακολούθηση Πορείας Υλοποίησης Φυσικού – Οικονομικού Αντικειμένου).
• Συνεργασία με τον Επικεφαλής Εταίρο στο πλαίσιο των όρων που προβλέπονται από την «Συμφωνία Εταιρικής Συνεργασίας».
• Εκθέσεις προόδου φυσικού και οικονομικού αντικειμένου του έργου, προετοιμασία και υποβολή δαπανών προς πιστοποίηση.

Οι υποψήφιοι για αυτή την θέση θα πρέπει να κατέχουν:

1. Πτυχίο και Μεταπτυχιακό από Αναγνωρισμένο Πανεπιστήμιο στα σχετικά γνωστικά  αντικείμενα Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων, Δημόσια Διοίκηση, Διοίκηση Γραφείου και Γραμματειακές Σπουδές ή εφάμιλλο τίτλο.
2. Εμπειρία στη διεκπεραίωση έρευνας/ών σχετικών με το γνωστικό αντικείμενο.
3. Διεκπεραίωση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων από εθνικά ή/και ευρωπαϊκά κονδύλια, θα αποτελεί επιπρόσθετο προσόν.  
4. Οργανωτικές ικανότητες
5. Πολύ καλή γνώση της Eλληνικής και Αγγλικής Γλώσσας
6. Επιπρόσθετο προσόν θα αποτελεί η εμπειρία στην Διαχείριση Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιάς ή Ψηφιακού Υλικού Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς ή Αρχιτεκτονικής ή Τοπογραφίας ή Πολιτικού Μηχανικού.

Οι μηνιαίες ακαθάριστες απόλαβες του υποψηφίου,  σύμφωνα με τα σημερινά δεδομένα και την ισχύουσα νομοθεσία, ανέρχονται στα €2145,62. Από το ποσό αυτό θα αφαιρούνται οι νόμιμες εισφορές στα διάφορα Ταμεία του Κράτους που αφορούν στον εργοδοτούμενο και φόρος εισοδήματος. Θα παρέχεται 13° μισθός ο οποίος έχει ενσωματωθεί κατ’ αναλογία στη μηνιαία αντιμισθία. Η εργοδότηση ενδέχεται να ξεκινήσει αρχές Μαρτίου 2021 και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τον Ιούλιο 2021, με προοπτική ανανέωσης.

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill two (2) Full-time Research Fellow positions (Special Scientists) at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics in the field of “Network Data Science”, funded under the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation Programme “Time-Varying Hyperbolic Geometric Graphs”.

The successful applicants will conduct high quality research, whose aim is to address grand-challenge open problems in network science, with profound societal applications. These problems are related to the modelling and prediction of the dynamics of real-world networks (technological, social, biological, etc.), by developing and utilizing novel mathematical and statistical inference methods.

The successful applicants will work under the supervision of Prof. Fragkiskos Papadopoulos (https://netsysci.cut.ac.cy/f.papadopoulos/).

Applicants should have:

• An undergraduate degree from a recognized university in one of the following fields: Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mathematics or Physics.

Η αμοιβή των Ειδικών Επιστημόνων κυμαίνεται από €34 – €68 την ώρα αναλόγως προσόντων και της φύσης των καθηκόντων. Η πληρωμή γίνεται ως εξής: αμοιβή x ώρες διδασκαλίας/την εβδομάδα x 14 βδομάδες για το Εαρινό Εξάμηνο. Σημειώνεται ότι, οι Ειδικοί Επιστήμονες υποχρεούνται να αναπληρώσουν τα μαθήματα που δεν θα πραγματοποιηθούν λόγω των αργιών 15 Μαρτίου 2021, 25 Μαρτίου 2021 και 1 Απριλίου 2021, εάν και εφόσον οι ημερομηνίες αυτές εμπίπτουν στο πρόγραμμα διδασκαλίας του συγκεκριμένου μαθήματος.  Νοείται ότι μέρος του χρόνου του Ειδικού Επιστήμονα θα πρέπει να αφιερώνεται για την επίλυση αποριών από τους φοιτητές.

Οι υποψήφιοι δεν είναι απαραίτητο να είναι πολίτες της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας.

The successful applicants will conduct high quality research, whose aim is to address grand-challenge open problems in network science, with profound societal applications. These problems are related to the modelling and prediction of dynamics of real networks (social, biological, technological, etc.) over different time scales, by utilizing the networks’ latent geometry. Specifically, the successful applicants will be involved in: (i) capturing the motion of nodes in the hyperbolic spaces of different real networks using Langevin dynamics; (ii) incorporating the discovered motion equations into sound generative models of time-varying hyperbolic geometric graphs (TV-HGGs), which will satisfy desired statistical properties, and which will explain both the structural and dynamical properties of real networks; and (iii) developing novel statistical inference methods based on these models and Fokker-Planck equations, which will be able to accurately forecast future connections and disconnections in different real networks over different time scales.

The successful applicants will work under the supervision of Prof. Fragkiskos Papadopoulos (https://netsysci.cut.ac.cy/f.papadopoulos/).

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing data-driven models of human and natural environment activity based on real-time maritime data. These can involve simple tasks like measuring the sea pollution or counting the fishing stock, to more complex machine-learning models such as predicting the effect of sea pollution on the fishing stock, or computing sea surface currents and using these to predict the ship’s estimated time of arrival and the spreading of oil spills. The goal is to both provide a realistic representation of the maritime environment and efficiently utilize agile information acquisition to deliver greater levels of situational awareness and improved decision-making.

The postdoc is also expected to work seamlessly with the other partners participating in the programme towards the preparation of deliverables according to the deadlines as set by the programme. The selected applicant should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as good knowledge of information processing, machine learning, and environmental monitoring. Most importantly, the selected applicant is expected to be able to produce high-caliber research output.

Applicants should have:

• BSc, MSc and PhD degrees (or equivalent) from a recognized university in one or a combination of the following fields of study: Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Οι υποψήφιοι πρέπει να κατέχουν:

1. Διδακτορικό τίτλο από αναγνωρισμένο πανεπιστήμιο σε θέμα σχετικό με το γνωστικό   αντικείμενο της θέσης.
2. Πολύ καλή γνώση της Ελληνικής και Αγγλικής γλώσσας.
3. Εμπειρία στη διδασκαλία πανεπιστημιακού επιπέδου.

Η αμοιβή των Ειδικών Επιστημόνων κυμαίνεται από €34 – €68 την ώρα αναλόγως προσόντων και της φύσης των καθηκόντων. Η πληρωμή γίνεται ως εξής: αμοιβή x ώρες διδασκαλίας/την εβδομάδα x 14 βδομάδες για το Φθινοπωρινό Εξάμηνο. Σημειώνεται ότι, οι Ειδικοί Επιστήμονες υποχρεούνται να αναπληρώσουν τα μαθήματα που δεν θα πραγματοποιηθούν λόγω των αργιών 1 Οκτωβρίου 2020 και 28 Οκτωβρίου 2020, εάν και εφόσον οι ημερομηνίες αυτές εμπίπτουν στο πρόγραμμα διδασκαλίας του συγκεκριμένου μαθήματος.

Οι υποψήφιοι δεν είναι απαραίτητο να είναι πολίτες της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας.

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill one (1) full time Experience Researcher (ER)/ post-doctoral Research Associate at the newly established UNESCO and European Research Area Chairs on Digital Cultural Heritage within the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory (DHRLab) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in the research field of Digital Heritage and Cultural Informatics.

The selected scientist will work for an initial period of forty-three months (43) within the EU H2020 ERA Chair ‘Mnemosyne Project’, a unique EU-funded programme, beginning from June 2020, as team leaders. They will help design, refine and deliver a structured and coherent three-phase research programme under the supervision of the ERA and UNESCO Chair holders, in order to achieve its objectives in the Holistic Documentation life cycle for digital heritage and to establish a programme of structural change and support at CUT which enables the outcomes of the research programme. Each of the three Research Associates will thus lead a small team focusing primarily on the definition and resolution of set of key challenges in the digital documentation life-cycle concerning, for example, aspects of:

Position:

The ERA Chair researchers will be recruited by the host organization of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus under a full employment contract with the possibility of extension (earliest day for the start of contract: beginning of June 2020). • metadata designs especially of language-based data close to human conceptual systems and gaining insights from data in natural language;
• innovative tools and methods to extract meaning from digital artefacts, including Video Recordings, Audio Recordings, Digital images, Text, Multi-Spectral and Thermal information
• 3D representations of objects or scenes;
• generation and presentation of localized DCH content and its documentation to enhance audience value (in services such as Europeana.eu) for example through efficient and innovative acquisition and deployment of Geospatial Data.

D. DCH Data Modelling

• data modelling and #Semantics, including those for Intangible Heritage and the modelling of DCH;

• classification and typology of objects, sites and monuments and its impact on media display and environments where these can be exhibited;
• using immersive VR and AR technology (Mixed Reality – MR) to blend and/or emphasize dimensions and detail environmental experiences;

E. DCH Knowledge Management (Interpretation)

• the virtual or actual reconstruction of Destroyed or degraded sites and Artefacts including the digital restoration of important monuments destroyed during conflict protecting against or remedying Looting and Destruction;
• virtual ‘reunification’ of CH assets which have been scattered to different parts of Europe and the world.

G. DCH Use and ReUse

• cost reduction and simplification of digital technologies;
• Personalisation and interactivity of viewing experiences in DCH, including the use of social media;
• new types of User Experiences (UX) with DCH that arise from the current ‘hardware and software revolution’ in the realms of VR/AR; interface selection (e.g. Augmented Reality, holograms) to allow seamless blending of on-site and on-line dimensions;
• visualisation techniques and their combination in different contexts, drawing on the state of the art in technology and standards e.g. for Interactive Video (IV); Immersive VR (IVR); Augmented Reality (AR); 3D Real-time Editors (Game-Engines), Ultra High and Giga-Pixel Panoramas; infinite zooming images; VR Wearables and Gesture Recognition Interfaces;

Benefits

The yearly gross salary of the ERs is based upon qualifications and experience. From this amount employer and employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. Benefits

The yearly gross salary of the ESRs is based upon qualifications and experience. From this amount employer and employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill (3) full time Experience Researchers (ERs)/ post-doctoral Research Associates at the newly established UNESCO and European Research Area Chairs on Digital Cultural Heritage within the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory (DHRLab) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in the research field of Digital Heritage and Cultural Informatics.

The selected scientist will work for an initial period of forty-four months (44) within the EU H2020 ERA Chair ‘Mnemosyne Project’, a unique EU-funded programme,  as team leaders. They will help design, refine and deliver a structured and coherent three-phase research programme under the supervision of the ERA and UNESCO Chair holders, in order to achieve its objectives in the Holistic Documentation life cycle for digital heritage and to establish a programme of structural change and support at CUT which enables the outcomes of the research programme. Each of the three Research Associates will thus lead a small team focusing primarily on the definition and resolution of set of key challenges in the digital documentation life-cycle concerning, for example, aspects of:

• Data Acquisition
• Data Processing
• Modelling
• Knowledge Management
• Preservation and
• Use and reuse.

Position:

The ERA Chair researchers will be recruited by the host organization of the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus under a full employment contract with the possibility of extension. The researchers will work closely together with the Director of Digital Heritage Research Lab at CUT and the teams of the UNESCO and ERA Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage and be responsible for the planned Research / Innovation topics and areas.

The Applicant should:

1. Have completed at least a four or five-year education cycle (e.g. Diploma in Engineering, Master’s Degree etc) from a recognized university in Geomatics, Computer- / Electrical Engineering Computer Science, Surveying Engineering and/or Social sciences / Humanities and has a completed Phd degree and/or with more than four (4) years of continuous full-time research experience in the fields below, with excellent programming skills and very good language and communication / implementation skills,

2. Possess excellent knowledge of the English language at a proficiency level (spoken and written)

An outline of the research topics under consideration includes:

A. Holistic structures and Standardisation

• definition and creation of holistic documentation ‘pipelines’ for specific user communities;

• creation of standards for 3D documentation and knowledge management.

B. DCH Data Acquisition

• advanced digitisation and approaches such as mass, crowdsourced and on-demand digitisation;

• methods for crowdsourcing content and allowing user-generated content for DCH in the cloud on cloud-computing for DCH, e.g. by leveraging popular photography;

• the use of UAVs and related technologies in capturing documentation;

• automated metadata extraction and crowd;

• realizing the potential of big data management and opportunities created by the vast volume, variety and velocity of mainly unstructured new data, generated every day most for finding and using previously inaccessible European digital content;

C. DCH Data Processing

• user-oriented metadata and ontology standards for the description and exchange of DCH data;

• metadata designs especially of language-based data close to human conceptual systems and gaining insights from data in natural language;

• innovative tools and methods to extract meaning from digital artefacts, including Video Recordings, Audio Recordings, Digital images, Text, Multi-Spectral and Thermal information

• 3D representations of objects or scenes;

• generation and presentation of localized DCH content and its documentation to enhance audience value (in services such as Europeana.eu) for example through efficient and innovative acquisition and deployment of Geospatial Data.

D. DCH Data Modelling

• data modelling and #Semantics, including those for Intangible Heritage and the modelling of DCH;

•classification and typology of objects, sites and monuments and its impact on media display and environments where these can be exhibited;

•using immersive VR and AR technology (Mixed Reality – MR) to blend and/or emphasize dimensions and detail environmental experiences;

• interactive environments in DCH e.g. re-creating 3D space through spatial references, imaging and modelling.

E. DCH Knowledge Management (Interpretation)

• establishing meaningful narratives (Storytelling) for DCH objects which are meaningful to identified user groups for interpretation purposes;

• using Crowdsourcing and the Internet to provide documentation resources for experiencing, contributing and gaining understanding in Cultural Heritage scenarios;

• systems for managing and re-using complex documentation and deriving knowledge e.g. for Monuments and Sites;

• applications of Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning in DCH;

• applying Big-Data Analytics to DCH;
