The AGORA Network offers a holistic understanding of the metaverse, blending technical, business and social insights. It prepares early-stage researchers for roles in academia, industry, and policymaking through its unique inter-sectoral network. The initiative will involve 17 'Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellows' for both academic and industrial research.
Description
As metaverses operate in real-time their wide adoption is expected to create digital public spaces for interaction in which the already possible online interactions are intensified and blended with the physical world as never before. The extensive adoption of metaverses will possibly lead to increased screen time and bandwidth consumption. As a result, users will be creating exponentially more data as they engage in metaverse aenironments, for work, play and other activities. Data arising using metaverses can contribute to value creation. This project will focus on how and which data could be gathered, what are the boundaries of relevant data management practices arises and what data management policies will be appropriate and ethical, whether and to what extent such data could be monetized while ensuring responsible data use.
