Office of the Vice-Rector of Financial Planning and Development

Our University aims to develop into a modern innovative university with international recognition, capable of providing education and high level research in leading sectors aiming at scientific, technological, cultural, social and economic enhancement of our country.

The main responsibilities of the Financial Planning and Development Vice-Rector, relying on our ambition to render the University into a modern and innovative institution, cover key areas of direct relevance to the smooth operation of the University and its development.

Such areas are the correct financial planning and the optimal utilization of available resources, as well as the smoothness of the internal operation of the University. Both sectors should be studied in order to record and resolve any problems or malfunctions that may arise, facilitating thus our work.

The development of our young University, has significantly been affected by the impact of the financial crisis and this resulted in the delay of the implementation of the Strategic Planning. Placing ceilings on State Budget, based on the data of the financial crisis start without differentiating to conform to the needs of the development of our University, puts many limitations to the increase of Faculties and Departments, as well as the expansion of facilities for covering even current needs.    Such needs relate to classrooms, dormitories, playgrounds and Departments / Services and their staff housing facilities. Alongside the effort to increase the State Budget , ways to increase the University's revenue will have to be found through, for example, Donations / Endowments, provision of specialized knowledge to the industry and exploitation of the knowledge generated by research.

Our goal is methodically and persistently to achieve our goals towards making the University a major supporter of the state and of society.
